Fall foliage in the California Eastern Sierra usually peaks late September through October, depending on the year and depending on the elevation. Higher elevations have peak fall colors earlier and lower elevations have peak fall colors later.

Update 10/01/2025 -Video of places to see fall colors in the Sierra Nevada Mountains -This new video I have created shows you some of the best places I have found in the Sierras to see fall color - it includes the location names. The video includes shots taken between September 30 - October 8 in 2024 and between October 16 and October 25 in 2023:

Update 10/16/2024 - video and pictures from 2024 that I took 9/30/24 through 10/8/24. We were in the Sierra Nevada Mountains a few weeks earlier than 2023 so the fall colors were at higher elevations than the prior year.
